🐾 You Can Count on Us – A Week That Adds Up to Success! 🐾

Hello, ASA Families! ā˜€ļø
We would like to begin this week by sharing our heartfelt appreciation for all of our wonderful parent volunteers. On Friday, we had the pleasure of celebrating many of you during our Parent Volunteer Brunch. Thank you to those who were able to attend and spend time with us. To the many volunteers who were unable to join us, please know you were missed and are equally valued. šŸ’›

This school year has been one of growth, change, and teamwork as we transitioned to our new campus. Through every step of that journey, our families have continued to say Count Me In—whether volunteering your time, supporting school events, helping in classrooms, or partnering with us from home. Your involvement helps create the kind of school community where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. We hope you enjoy the thank-you video that was shared as a small token of our gratitude.

āž• Math CAASPP Testing This Week āž•
Our students in grades 3rd–8th will continue with Math CAASPP testing this week. We know they are ready to show how much they have grown this year and prove that their hard work really adds up! With encouragement from home and school, there is no limit to what they can achieve. Help your child start the day on the right angle with a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a positive mindset. When we work together, success is always a prime result!

ā° Please Remember: Arriving on Time Matters
Being at school on time is especially important during testing weeks. Late arrivals can create extra stress for students and interruptions for classrooms. Thank you for helping your child arrive on time and ready to begin the day strong—because every minute counts, and being punctual is a plus!

🌟 Middle School Dance This Friday 🌟
We will close out the week with our Middle School Dance in the gym, where our 8th graders will be the Stars on the Walk of Fame! We are excited to celebrate our students with a fun evening together. Please remember that all students must turn in a signed permission slip by Friday in order to attend.

Thank you for continuing to say Count Me In for ASA. Together, we multiply the good, subtract the stress, and make this school community one of a kind. 🐾

Warmly,
Mrs Valenta

šŸ“£ CAASPP Testing Reminder

This week is CAASPP Testing. Students in 3-8th will be taking the ELA portion of the state testing. Please make sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and arrives to school on time at 8:00 AM, ready to test.

ā° Important Reminder: Students who arrive late will be placed in an alternative setting. Once testing has already begun, students will not be allowed to enter the testing room until the session is completed to avoid disrupting others.

Thank you for your continued support!

Fontana Facilities Update

We know many of our Fontana families have been asking about the installation of the play structure and shade structure, and we are excited to share a positive update.
Per our Facilities Use Agreement with the Fontana Unified School District, these projects are the responsibility of the district. We are happy to share that the plans have now been approved by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).

This approval is an important step forward, and we are currently awaiting confirmation from the district and their architect regarding the next steps and timeline for installation.
We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work with FUSD to bring these exciting improvements to our campus. We look forward to seeing these new additions for our Wolves soon!

Counseling ConnectionšŸŽ

This Week’s Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Skill:Ā  Critical Thinking 🌟

Critical thinking is using your brain to think, ask questions, and make smart choices. It means not just accepting things right away, but stopping to think, understand, and decide.

When we use critical thinking, we learn to solve problems, make thoughtful decisions, and understand situations more clearly. Taking time to think carefully can help us make better choices and learn from our experiences. šŸ§ šŸ’š

šŸ’¬ Character Skill Reflections:
  • When is a time you had to stop and really think before making a choice?
  • What questions can you ask to better understand a problem or situation?
  • Why is it important to think carefully instead of rushing to an answer?Ā

If you have any questions or would like counseling support for your child, you can reach Mr. Thornhill at (909) 258-9937 or via email at aodhan.thornhill@asathrive.org
