🐺 Count Me In for Math Night! βž•

Join us this Thursday from 4:00–5:00 PM in the Gym for a fun-filled Family Math Night! Families will engage in hands-on activities that show how math is part of our everyday livesβ€”from managing money to making real-world decisions.

Our goal is to build confidence in math and share simple ways families can support learning during daily routines.

A big thank you to Mrs. Delk, Miss Cumerida, Ms. Miller, Mrs. Montijo, and Mr. D for planning and preparing an engaging and meaningful evening for our wolves!

πŸ’¬ Questions & Responses
Restrooms in TK/K Classrooms
We will continue to request updates from FUSD. As of now, restrooms are accessible to TK/K students.
Use of Other Restrooms for Kindergarten
Kindergarten students may be escorted to other restrooms when needed; however, these are primarily used by grades 1–6 and may often be occupied.
Accelerated Reader (AR)
While not a comprehensive reading program, AR can positively impact reading motivation. We will explore AR and similar options to determine alignment with our school’s priorities.
After-School Reading/Book Club
We encourage families to share club ideas with Tony Moran so we can explore interest and feasibility.
Campus Safety Communication
Following the recent incident involving a neighbor entering campus, we conducted a post-incident review. This included revisiting student release and parent communication procedures to ensure timely updates moving forward.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Efficiency
Staff will review procedures during our next Friday meeting to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow, including reminding cars to pull forward.
K Recess & Middle School PE Scheduling
At this time, separate schedules are not possible. We are continuing to ensure clear supervision and designated spaces for each group and will monitor as needed.
3rd Grade Field Trip
We are working to finalize a new date with the Discovery Center after needing to reschedule due to transportation availability. The plan is for grades 3–5 to attend together once confirmed.
Volunteer Opportunities (PACK Request)
We will be sharing a calendar of events that would benefit from volunteers to better support recruitment and planning.

Fontana Facilities Update

We know many of our Fontana families have been asking about the installation of the play structure and shade structure, and we are excited to share a positive update.
Per our Facilities Use Agreement with the Fontana Unified School District, these projects are the responsibility of the district. We are happy to share that the plans have now been approved by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).

This approval is an important step forward, and we are currently awaiting confirmation from the district and their architect regarding the next steps and timeline for installation.
We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work with FUSD to bring these exciting improvements to our campus. We look forward to seeing these new additions for our Wolves soon!

Counseling Connection🍎

This Week’s Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Skill: Goals 🌟

Goals are things we want to work toward, achieve, or get better at. A goal can be something small, like finishing your work, or something bigger β€” like improving in reading, making a new friend, or learning a new skill.
Goals give us direction and help us focus on what is important. They can be short-term or long-term, and each step we take helps us grow and succeed. πŸŽ―πŸ’š

πŸ’¬ Character Skill Reflections:
  • What is one goal you would like to work on?
  • What is one small step you can take to reach that goal?
  • Who can help you when you are working toward a goal?

If you have any questions or would like counseling support for your child, you can reach Mr. Thornhill at (909) 258-9937 or via email at aodhan.thornhill@asathrive.org

🌟 Goal Setting at Home (TK–8th Grade) 🌟

Here are ways families can practice trustworthiness at home:
Setting goals helps children stay focused, build confidence, and work toward something important.

Here are simple ways families can practice setting goals at home:

1️⃣ Start with One Small Goal
Help your child choose one simple goal (ex: finish homework, read for 10 minutes, clean their room).

2️⃣ Make a Plan Together
Break the goal into small steps and talk about what they can do each day.

3️⃣ Write It Down or Draw It
Have your child write or draw their goal and place it somewhere they can see it.

4️⃣ Check-In Time
Set a daily or weekly time to talk about progress and celebrate small wins.

5️⃣ Celebrate Effort
Praise your child for trying and sticking with it, even if the goal isn’t finished yet.

Practicing goal setting at home helps our Wolves build responsibility, confidence, and perseverance. 🐺⭐
