🐾 A Great Start to the New Year 🐾

Dear ASA Families,

It was wonderful welcoming our Wolves back to campus this week! Classrooms were filled with engaged learners, positive routines, and a strong sense of belonging. As we begin the New Year with our theme “Count Me In,” we are excited to continue supporting every student, every day.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community.

Proud Principal,
Mrs Valenta

Fontana Facilities Update

We know many of our Fontana families have been asking about the installation of the play structure and shade structure. Per our Facilities Use Agreement with the Fontana Unified School District, these projects are the responsibility of the district.

The latest update from FUSD indicates that the plans are still with civil engineers and must reach 80% completion before being submitted to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) for approval. The district is awaiting confirmation from their architect on next steps.

We will continue to share updates as soon as we receive them. Thank you for your patience as we work with FUSD to ensure these much-anticipated improvements move forward for our Wolves.

Counseling Connection🍎

🧠 This Week’s Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Skill: Communication 🌟

Communication is how we connect with people. We communicate when we talk, listen, write, draw, text, use our facial expressions, or even our bodies.

Good communication means saying what we mean in a kind and clear way and listening to understand, not just to respond. When we communicate well, we build stronger relationships and work through challenges more successfully.

This week, students explored what communication means and how kind, respectful words and actions help build positive relationships.

💬 Questions to Ask Your Student:
  • What are different ways to communicate besides talking?
  • How can communication help us solve problems or avoid them?
  • How can you communicate your feelings in a kind and respectful way, even when you’re upset or disagree?
If you have any questions or would like counseling support for your child, you can reach Mr. Thornhill at (909) 258-9937 or via email at aodhan.thornhill@asathrive.org
