Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) for 2025–2026: Information and Enrollment Priority
Dear ASA Families,
Allegiance STEAM Academy is excited to offer a robust, no-cost Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) for the 2025–2026 school year. These enriching, hands-on experiences are designed to support your child’s academic, physical, and social-emotional development beyond the regular instructional day.
What is ELOP?
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program is a state-funded initiative that offers before-school, after-school, intersession (non-school day), and summer learning opportunities for TK–8th grade students. The goal is to provide a minimum of 9 hours of combined instructional time, recess, meals, and expanded learning activities on schooldays, and 9 hours of programming on at least 30 nonschool days per year in alignment with EC Section 46120(b)(1).
ELOP at ASA includes both an academic support component (such as tutoring and homework assistance) and an enrichment component (arts, athletics, leadership, and STEM learning).
Program Offerings for Trimester 1
Your child may be eligible to participate in a variety of enriching and skill-building opportunities, including:
Tutoring: Primary ELA. Primary Math, Upper Elementary, Middle School Math, and Middle School ELA
Clubs: Drumline, Leadership, Art Masters, Calligraphy, Spanish/Folklórico, Choir, Orchestra, Tall Flags, Yearbook, and Mind Masters
Sports: Co-ED Flag Football, Cheer, Volleyball Boy and Girls, Mileage Club, Human Movement
STEAM Enrichment: Science Olympiad, Crazy 8s, Math Club, VEX Robotics
Boys and Girls Club for K-8 students
TK Before/After School Care
Prioritization for Unduplicated Pupils
As required by California Education Code Section 46120(b)(3), ELOP services must prioritize enrollment for students who are part of the Unduplicated Pupil Count (UPC). These include:
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals
English learners
Foster youthStudents experiencing homelessness
While all students enrolled at a participating ASA campus are eligible to apply, students in these categories are given enrollment preference to ensure equitable access to high-quality out-of-school-time learning experiences.
Program Schedule
ELOP is designed to complement the regular instructional day—not replicate it. Activities are engaging, student-centered, and developmentally appropriate for each age group. The schedule ensures compliance with:
A 1:10 staff-to-student ratio for TK and Kindergarten students
A 1:20 ratio for all other students
Alignment with a minimum nine-hour daily program requirement across school days and non-school days
Enrollment and Communication
To enroll your child:
Complete the enrollment form distributed via ParentSquare or available at the front office.
Return the signed form by the specified deadline.
Families will be notified of acceptance based on prioritization and availability.
All information will be communicated using culturally and linguistically appropriate methods, and ASA staff are available to assist families in English and Spanish.
Program Fees
There is no cost to participate in ASA’s ELOP for any student. While state law permits the collection of program fees on a sliding scale, ASA waives fees for all families to ensure full access and remove financial barriers.
Should you have any questions or need assistance with enrollment, please do not hesitate to contact us at tony.moran@asathrive.org for clubs and tutoring/ juan.avila@asathrive.org for sports or call (909) 258-9937.

Sincerely,
Mr. Tony and Coach JC
